Events to Look Out For in New Orleans this spring

New Orleans is often called the gem of Louisiana, with the entertainment and events being a major reason behind that. Here’s what we found for you to check out in New Orleans this spring.

New Orleans Jazz and Heritage Festival (April 22 – May 1)

When someone mentions New Orleans many people think about jazz. So, in even if you don’t like jazz, the city where modern jazz was born should inspire you to attend. This festival is focused on creating bonds within the diverse community of this city. All are gathered at the New Orleans Fair Grounds to present, participate or simply watch different music, acting and heritage performances and exhibitions and to taste authentic food.

New Orleans Wine and Food Experience (May 26 – May 29)

New Orleans food is thought to be some of the best in the world, and you all who live here have access to it every day! The Wine and Food Experience event is the place where winemakers worldwide get together to show their products. In addition, visitors can enjoy the dishes prepared by some of the greatest chefs in the world. This year, the visitors will get a chance to try some of the 1000 wines from more than 150 wineries and the food prepared by more than 70 established chefs.

New Orleans Oyster Festival (June 4 – June 5)

It doesn’t really matter whether you like grilled, raw or fried oysters, this festival held each year will definitely satisfy your criteria. The chefs that will be part of this festival will prepare oysters in dozens of different ways. While you are there, don’t miss the Acme Oyster eating contest and the oyster shucking contest. The best part is that the entrance is free.

Cajun Zydeco Festival (June 18 – June 19)

Feel the spirit of the Cajun community at the Cajun Zydeco Festival. This festival features more than two dozen performances on two separate stages. The Cajun and Zydeco music will be played for two days and some of the well-known performers like Beau Soleil and Buckwheat Zydeco will be part of this year’s event. The festival will be held in Treme neighborhood.
